TROPICAL REEF TOUR
Day 1: Arrival in Cairns
Flight from point of origin to Cairns. Meet and greet with the group at the airport and transfer to the accommodation in Cairns. Later on we explore the city and have the opportunity to go for a swim.
Day 2: Cape Tribulation
As we travel along one of the most scenic drives in Australia, we will visit the unique Rainforest Wildlife Habitat to see about 180 different animal species up close. We cruise down the scenic Daintree River searching for crocodiles and other wildlifein the suroundingmangrove swamps. After a picniclunch wecontinue our journey toCapeTribulation - where the rainforest meets the reef. The way there leadsthrough densetropicalrainforest whichwasdeclared asUNESCO WorldHeritage Site.Finallywe head to Mossman Gorge for a rainforest walk and swim before returning to Cairns.
Day 3: The Great Barrier Reef
Today we cruise on a catamaran to the Great Barrier Reef. We visit two unique locationswhere you will spend the day snorkelling the reef. Equipment, lunch and hot drinks onboard are included. Diving is also available for an optional fee and can be organised and paid direct on board. You can also take a ride on the glass bottom boat (at own expenses). Definitely an exciting day!
Day 4: Free Day in Cairns
Today’s day is at your own leisure - relax on the beach, the pool or explore Cairns.
Day 5: Kuranda
On a scenic railway journey we wind our way through spectacular rainforest and gorges up to Kuranda. After some free time in Kuranda we visit the Rainforest Station and participate on various activities, such as the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience which includes Aboriginal dancers and the Dreamtime Walk. We also visit the Koala & Wildlife Park where you have the opportunity have your photograph taken cuddling a koala (optional own expenses) and hand feed kangaroos and wallabies. Via Skyrail we will then glide effortlessly over 7.5kms of prestige rainforest in gondola cabins just metres above the forest canopy down to the see shore again.
Day 6: Day Trip to Atherton Tablelands
The Atherton Tablelands are the perfect place for our waterfalls adventure. Take a swim at the scenic Josephine Falls with its natural rock slides and learn about the area’s unique rainforest. We continue on to beautiful Millaa Millaa Falls to relax and enjoy a tropical lunch, followed by a visit to the huge Curtain Fig Tree to marvel at one of nature’s true wonders. Take a dip in the cool clear waters of Lake Eacham the volcanic crater before heading back to Cairns.
Day 7: Green Island
Once more we will catch a boat to the Great Barrier Reef. We cruise to Green Island, where we will have the opportunity to snorkel the reef, explore the island or just sit back and relax. You can also explorer the underwater world on a Semi-Submarine tour - without even getting wet.
Day 8: Return flight
Free time in the morning before its time to say goodby to tropical north Queensland and your new friends. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
